What we do
BuildGrid publishes small, focused calculators - starting with our Concrete Calculator - that turn a set of measurements into the numbers you actually need on site or at the builders' merchant: volume, weight, bag counts and rough cost. No sign-up, no app to install, and every result updates instantly as you type.
Why we built it
Most concrete and materials calculators online are either buried in ads, missing a shape you actually need, or don't show their working. We wanted something that shows the formula it's using, lets you switch units without doing the maths yourself, and gives a straight answer for driveways, footings, posts, steps and more.
Accuracy & limits
Every calculator on this site gives an estimate, not a guarantee. Real-world factors - ground conditions, formwork, product yield, mix design - all affect the final quantity you'll need. We always recommend adding a sensible waste allowance and checking figures with your supplier before ordering, and none of our tools replace a structural engineer's sign-off on load-bearing work.
